I took Jaymie’s classes when I was pregnant with my second child. Even though I was very physically active during my first pregnancy, I never really addressed maintaining my core strength and it took me awhile to swing back postpartum. I was glad to find a pregnancy specific fitness class the second time around that could help me engage muscles in a safe way to prevent some of the problems that came up after my first pregnancy.
In my research, I felt there was conflicting information about what core exercises are safe and unsafe for pregnancy. In Jaymie’s class, I felt supported and educated as she guided us through a series of exercises to support and tone the pregnant body. I realized that I could safely do a lot more than I thought! It felt good going to class each week knowing that I was taking some action to take care of and protect my body.
Also what kept me coming back to class was the atmosphere of kindness, positivity and acceptance that Jaymie creates. I felt really supported physically and emotionally. I soaked up information from Jaymie about women’s body health and also benefited from the community of women in the class with me. I’m even hoping to get back to take class with my newborn.
